Moderator Elections
The community has spoken and we listened.
One of the most talked about aspects of the game has been the moderator position. We have received a tremendous amount of feedback on who should become a moderator as well as feedback on current moderators. We have decided to create a system that will harness the collective knowledge of the 1320 community and empower you to choose for yourselves.
The solution is an election system that will allow the community to nominate and vote for their moderators.
Nominations
Members of the community will have three nomination votes to give. They can nominate three different candidates or give all three nominations to one person. After one week of nominations the results will be calculated and the top 50 players with the most nominations will proceed to the voting rounds.
Nominee eligibility requirements:
· Be a 1320 member - membership must be kept current while "in office".
· Have an account age of 6 months or more. **
· Never been "de-moded" in the past for misconduct. *
*Since this is our very first election process, we want to give the community as much freedom to elect the people they think are best. We will wipe the de-mod records clean for this first election to give everyone a fair shot.
Voting
There will be three rounds of voting in which nominees will be publicly interviewed by administrators and then voted on by the game community. At the end of each round the bottom 10 will be eliminated. Anyone that has been in the game at least three months will be eligible to vote.
The final 20 nominees will become your new moderators.
This election will run four times a year, every three months. This will ensure that the community has plenty of opportunity to keep what works or bring in people they think can do better. We are very excited to see this system work for the community and look forward to finding the people that will serve it best together.
UPDATE: The previous requirements for moderator eligibility called for an account age of at least 6 months. We realize that there are a lot of players that have been playing a long time and have recently created new accounts. There are also many new players that could be great moderators.
For these reasons we have decided to change the requirements and remove the account age restriction.
Any member of 1320 legends can be nominated to become a moderator.
