November 8, 2007 is forever etched in the history of Nitto Legends V2. It was at that time when racers scattered across the face of the globe sought to become the champion of the first ever Wheel Envizio Tournament. When the smoke from the tires settled after an hour of competitive bracket racing, HiGhTiMeS420 was deemed champion which saw him speeding away in the unique virtual Wheel Envizio Subaru WRX STI and a shiny new Wheel Envizio badge was also added to his profile.
July 18, 2008 made another mark on Nitto Legends V2 calendar of historic events. NOS Energy Drink sponsored another one of a kind tournament, this time it was dubbed the NOS Powershot 24 Hour Endurance Challenge. Qualifying for each tournament gave each virtual racer 1 point, while winning a round earned 3 points and winning an entire tournament earned 5. The NOS 24 Hour Endurance Challenge alternated, hour by hour, between bracket and H2H racing with different vehicle requirements for each tournament. After a gruesome and exhausting 24 hours, 7racer was awarded a virtual full carbon fiber body NOS Powershot TC and a unique NOS Powershot badge for accumulating the most points.
Once again, the stage has been set. Who will rise to the occasion and be crowned champion? Royal Purple is now the sponsor of another unique tournament dubbed The Royal Purple Rumble. The winner will drive away a fresh virtual Royal Purple 350z drag car and a unique Royal Purple badge added to their account.
To assist racers in their quest to become champion and owner of the coveted Royal Purple 350z, I asked some of the top bracket and H2H racers in the Nitto Legends Community for some guidelines in preparation for the Royal Purple Tournament. The responses were as follows:
LadyBoss: I would prepare myself for qualifying by constantly running on PT and 24/7 tournaments.
LadyBoss: I would make sure to relog just before tourney to eliminate as much lag as possible.
LightningSpeed: Have the confidence to achieve my goal of winning instead of thinking negatively.
LightningSpeed:Race the car Live a few times to get the feel for the car.
Essrt4: Try to relax as much as possible right before the contest.
Essrt4: Practice hitting shifts consistently.
GIXXERGUY6: Clean the pc up, scan for malware, clean internet junk up, free up ram, and reboot pc.
GIXXERGUY6: Close all NIMs and block most of the people that talk a lot.
GIXXERGUY6: Kill all background processes.
7racer: For h2h, the highest hp is not necessarily the best. Try to get a fast and reliable setup.
King Ryan: If your car gets ED find the best setup that can go more races with less ED.
King Ryan: Get bigger bottles.
Bravesfann: When I’m actually in the tourney I NIM friends and watch other racers so I can get the feel of how people are running. Example= If someone has pulled nothing under .54x I know I can be a little more patient on the light.
Bravesfann: The mental aspect. Listen to music, drink a soda, anything to get your mind focused.
sqwrly: Practice in full rooms.
sqwrly: Don’t switch settings till you get a good baseline.
BoostedM3: If it's a h2h tourney, I would go through the leader boards and check the ET's ran to see what I should be running close to, I would also try to make a set up for the least amount of ED and try to make it at least 3 runs with nos.
BoostedM3: I would definitely be prepared at least 1 hour in advance so I would have enough time to get the feel for the car I am running, whether it is BK or h2h. I would also be in every room possible checking out the competitors.
BoostedM3: I think this is key to every tourney, it's kind of off topic, but good sportsmanship is a must, we all know it gets laggy at times, but that’s just how it works. Every tourney I enter into, I tell everyone Good Luck, before every race I run I say good luck, and when the race is over, whether I win or lose I say good race, whether I won or lost.
I hope these tips assisted you in your preparation for the Royal Purple Tournament. I would like to extend Thanks to everyone who participated and offered these tips and guidelines. All the best to you all as you strive to become champion. May the best man/woman win.
