Nitto 1320 Legends and Scion held a custom graphics contest in anticipation of the Scion TRD Release Series Challenge tournament. Designers from all over the world submitted their graphics in hopes of being featured in a Racer Spotlight. The top three contestants are set to receive a special virtual designer badge on their profile to let other racers know they've got what it takes to produce great graphics!
Racers cast their votes and chose A L R A C as the winner of the tC Graphics Showoff. "Limited Edition" appears on the rear bumper of her TRD tC as a reminder of the exclusivity behind the Scion tC TRD Release Series. Scion logos are proudly prominent on the car, as well as a Toyota Racing Development sticker on the side. The car design is truly amazing! I interviewed A L R A C to get some insight on what it takes to produce a graphic of this caliber.
PMA: Congrats on winning the tC Graphics Showoff! I'd like to start off with some basic information for the community. May we please have your name, age, and how long you've been playing Nitto 1320?
A L R A C: My name is Carla, and I'm 27 years old, but I feel like I'm 15. I've been playing Nitto 1320 Legends for 6 months now.
PMA: This contest came down to only a few votes. Aside from a great design, you had the support of the community. What did it take to get to that point?
A L R A C: I believe that it's because I have the support of my friends who I've met in here and also the support of those who appreciate my work.
PMA: So did your friends help you get the word out about the competition?
A L R A C: A friend actually convinced me to enter this one because I entered the Royal Purple showoff and I wasn't happy with the design I came up with.
PMA: It obviously takes some serious planning and preparation to create a graphic like this. What did you do to prepare for this contest?
A L R A C: I don't actually do preparations when I make graphics. I make them when I'm in the mood. I don't like working under pressure, so taking my time is the key. I started thinking of some designs when I first found out about the contest, then everything followed.
PMA: How long have you been making graphics?
A L R A C: I started earlier this year. It was an accident actually. I had been asking another user to make me some, but he was too busy, so I tried it for myself and made some.
PMA: Did you have any inspiration in creating this graphic? Who are your influences when it comes to design?
A L R A C: I ask people what they think about the design and what to change to make it look better. The great graphic-makers that influence me are DOOM, Mr Racer, SH97 and SLRrazor.
PMA: What's your favorite graphic? This can be either in-game or on a real car.
A L R A C: Honestly, I don't like graphics on a real car. Don't ask me why, but my favorite graphic in- game would be my XB and my GT, because they are so cute.
PMA: What are some important qualities for a graphic artist to possess?
A L R A C: Patience is very important, because making a graphic design takes time. You don't really have to be an artist to be able to make one. You just have to have a good imagination.
PMA: I know that designing graphics is not easy. Please describe the steps in the process of creating a new graphic.
A L R A C: What I do is first is think of which colors I will use. Then, I try to look for some designs online or in magazines for some ideas. After that, I'll combine those graphic ideas all together and make the graphic. I usually make graphics while I'm online, because I do preview it every now and then to make sure it fits right.
PMA: Who introduced you to Nitto 1320 Legends?
A L R A C: I used to play an online war game before, and had a forum. One member mentioned Nitto 1320 Legends and I checked it out. The next thing I knew, I was hooked. Why does Nitto have to be so addicting!?
PMA: Congratulations again on winning the Scion tC Graphics Showoff. Is there anyone you'd like to give a shout-out to?
A L R A C: First of all, I would like to thank Nitto for this UGG showoff and all the staff who make this game so addicting. I’d like to thank my teammates: Roc, Dada, Hassan, James, Kirby, Elmer, Tenten, Coff, Earl, Ralph, Gerry, Paul and my Nitto lovers Ash, Rich and Rudy. Lastly to those who appreciate my work and also to those who don't. Congrats to all the winners and I'm looking forward to another UGG showoff. Peace!
Special thanks go out to everyone who has participated in this contest. The community played a big role in making this contest happen. Stay tuned for more features in the future!
