Default Community Complaint: Job Ratings

Hey guys,

As a Journalist, I don't feel that I work for the Administrators nor CIE. I feel it's my job to work for the community, and give the players what they want, by all means necessary.

Now, I do believe that I speak for a vast number of people when I say that the Job Ratings page is underused and extremely outdated.

Job Ratings Page

I went ahead and got a hold of two racers a within the game to get a small and quick glance at their thoughts. I introduce to you Luis GST and lionchike.

------------------------------------------

Mitsubishi: What is your opinion on the job ratings page?

Luis GST: They should update the page as before, so people can give their opinion about the work of new staff.

Mitsubishi: Do you think having it updated would promote better work coming from staff?

Luis GST: I think it would help because we would see how the community feels with the work of staff, that's my opinion.

Mitsubishi: I see. Thanks for your input. I appreciate it!

------------------------------------------

Mitsubishi: What is your opinion on the job ratings page?

lionchike: It's rating or just the fact that the page is there?

Mitsubishi: The fact that the page is there, old and outdated.

lionchike: The page itself might have been a good idea if it was updated but as it is now I would say its not too good. I play pretty often and you get to see the mods are actually doing something. Doesn't seem fair to them that this outdated list is just hanging there. If they were really serious about the ratings they should be updating them regularly. At the same time certain people may take it the wrong way because the ratings are user rating correct? ...and not all users rate mods. I mean I just found out we have a rating page.

Mitsubishi: I see. So, you'd definitely would like to see it being constantly updated? Do you think it would improve the work that staff puts out?

lionchike: Yeah it would probably motivate people to do more because a lot of mods go unseen when they aren't rated, but they really do a good job and are always trying to help. It would definitely be beneficial.

Mitsubishi: Do you think it would help the Administrators with the staff selection process?

lionchike: Yeah, it would help. Obviously, staff that aren't doing much for the community will result in people not wanting to see them as staff again; those who do a good job will be able to continue helping.

Mitsubishi: I see. Well, thanks for your input! I really appreciate it!

------------------------------------------

As you can see here, both these people agree that the Job Rating's page should be something more than what it currently is. Over my time in Nitto 1320 Legends, there has been several instances where someone will ask about that page and I just wonder to myself why it has never been updated. At this point in time, I think the only way it will be updated is we, the community, speak up to have it fixed. Personally, I am all for it being updated and remain being updated when new staff comes and goes.

Some obvious benefits:
  • Motivation for Staff
  • Gives Staff a "Self-Evaluation"
  • Helps Administration Get Rid of Poor Quality Staff Members
  • Helps Administration With Future Staff Picks
  • Got more benefits? Let me know so I can add them.
Feel free to let your voices be heard by posting and/or voting in the poll!

Thanks for reading,
Billy

Only problem they ran into before with the rating system was spam voting either for or against someone. For instance, staff member's friends would boost their popularity up. On the flipside, someone getting upset from a ban would spam horrible reviews on such staff member. I think it would be a great feature to use again if admins developed a way to filter and/or regulate the voting process. Either way it goes, good job with this Billy.

They can regulate it to a certain extent. One submission per person(staff) per IP/Machine ID, etc... Just like going to a site and it telling you that you have already submitting for this subject already. Sure there are ways around the filters, but it takes more time.

Now with my saying the above I have been around long enough to know that CIE has tried what we asked for in the past and when it fails they ignore it and our requests. Since the ratings system failed they will most likely ignore it and go back to old ways or on to new ways. Take for instance the current staff choices(just because they can articulate words good enough for the guy eating sushi and sippin' saki to say "Oh yeah I like that one") We have "staff" that are cheaters, never around, real life scammers of people of the community, etc..... Hell we even have a family member of a known cheater as staff.....WTF????????????????

The only name I agree with being staff is LadyBoss. You ask for a reason?

The answer is very simple really

The ratings system was a joke from the get go. It was put into the game so that the community would be able to tell which staff members should stay and which should go without the admins having to watch and judge the staff on their own.

The ratings system was supposed to be "boost" proof and was supposed to work without any way of people abusing it what so ever.

It was abused and wound up being one of the worst releases this game has ever seen. It was a complete joke and was done away with a few months after it's release.
